HDMI Specification 2.0 Version Released, Supporting 4K Display Technology
HDMI specification 2.0 version released at the consumer electronics show in Berlin, Germany on September 4th, 2013.
HDMI 2.0 can be backwards compatible with HDMI Specification early version. It has higher bandwidth which can be up to 18Gbps. HDMI 2.0 expanded the key enhancements to support the increasing market demand of customers for audio and video experience. New features include:
— Supporting 4K@50/60 (2160P: 4 times the 1080P/60 high-definition of video resolution).
— Up to 32 audio channels, providing multi-dimensional audio experience.
— Up to 1536kHz audio sampling frequency, which has the best high-fidelity sound effects.
— Transmitting double video streaming synchronously up to several users (on the same screen).
— Transmitting more streaming audio synchronously up to several users (up to 4).
— Supporting 21:9 aspect ratio in wide-angle cinemas.
— Synchronizing video streaming and audio streaming dynamically.
— CEC extensions can enhance command and control of consumer electronics equipment through a single point of control.
